Coffee on the Big Screen

 It is well known that art is inspired by our daily lives and as coffee is a beloved habit for hundreds of people, it could not be missing from famous scenes in the world cinema.
 You've surely seen movie scenes that actors are having a conversation over a hot cup of coffee in a vintage coffee shop on a cold day and felt jealous about it. It's ok we have all been there...

So, we have prepared a flashback to the most memorable coffee moments in the cinema.

Ready, set, go...with a cup of coffee of course!


Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961)

In the famous opening scene of Breakfast at Tiffany's the classy Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn) is looking at Tiffany & Co.'s jewelry showcase in New York while drinking her coffee, over the beautiful soundtrack ''moon river''.





Amélie (2001) 


Amelie not only works in a café, but she also uses coffee trying to bring two people together. Amelie splits hot coffee intentionally on Georgette tricking her to find Joseph in the restroom. In the end the scalding worth the pain. 





The Usual Suspects (1995)


When Agent Dave Kujan puts all the pieces together, he throws his coffee all over the floor at the ending of the unsusal Suspects. The moment of surprise is imprinted by the coffee shattering 3 times on the floor, If you have not seen the movie but you intent to then do not watch the clip below, huge spoiler alert! 



Pulp Fiction (1994)

Quentin Tarantino as Jimmy serves his great, gourmet coffee to the bloodstained John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson, who are enjoying it like nothing happened before. 



Coffee and Cigarettes (2004)

It could not be missing from our list. Famous movie stars, from Bill Murray to Cate Blanchett and musicians such as White Stripes, Iggy Pop and Tom Waits, are about coffee, over a coffee, with or without a cigarette.




Heat (1995)

The heat brought two legends together on the big screen Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. What happens when good and bad boys meet over a cup of coffee? 



After all, coffee is not only the fuel for waking up in the morning,  but it seems to be an artistic tool in the world cinema.
